CHARACTER INFO
Character name: Terezi Pyrope
Character journal: [personal profile] dr4gonst4ff
Fandom: MS Paint Adventures: Homestuck, Acquaristuck AU.
Point of Canon: Acquariet has yet to be given a "canon" plotline, just overviews of the characters' lives. I'd say "pre-events of whatever comic Jotaku is planning" as a catch-all.
Arrival Information: She was born here, and lives in the Outer City. She's middle class, but on the tail end of it.
Appearance: Her reference sheet.
Personality: First and foremost, Terezi is a troll of justice. She has a strict code of moral standards, which boils down to protecting the innocent from harm, and making sure the guilty suffer the cruelest amount of pain available. It's partly because of this that she has not gotten to start her career as a prosecutor yet, as the court sees her as too kill-happy to look at the facts properly. Otherwise, she's pretty smart. If she could calm herself down, she'd make a damn good lawyer. That's just a lot easier said than done.
Also because of her intelligence, Terezi is the master of mind games. She's quick to pick up on what bothers others, and their nervous habits when they begin to cover up truths. It is second nature to her to pick out the weaknesses of her enemies, and turn those against them to hit where it hurts the most. And of course, since she only does this when she is completely sure they are guilty, she sees no point in holding back in the least. When she is not chasing down evil-doers and getting in trouble with the court for her rash behavior, she often role-plays alone to hone her skills.
She doesn't care much for friendships outwardly, and doesn't mind using trust as a means for her games. However, she does care a lot about her friends. She is a caring person, and wants to make sure her friends are safe. Her true motives for her cruel nature are to make sure that no one can hurt anyone she cares about, or that anyone who does is severely punished. She's a sweet kid at heart, but a lot of people don't get to see that side of her.
When she is not being business-like and professional, that is, when hanging around only her friends, she is a cackling madwoman who will try and get a rise out of just about anyone. She often makes humor by prodding at chinks in the mental armor of others, but she is normally very careful not to become legitimately offensive. She can, however, get really annoying without noticing. She doesn't think through a lot of her actions, but her mistakes come in such a lovable way that it gets very hard to stay angry at her (even if her mistake is deciding it won't be a problem to sniff out someone's red intimates and wear them on her head).
Terezi is very curious about the blood color of others, to the point of a psychopathic image being formed when she meets someone new. She doesn't give a damn about the caste system, but she wants to befriend lots of colors. All the colors. And mostly, she wants to find lots of red-bloods, and humans. She loves red. Red is her favorite color, and she's described it once or twice as "the most delicious color". It's possible that it may only be possible for her to get attracted to people with red-blood, as seen with her attraction to Karkat and Dave.
As a last note, Terezi has a habit of covering walls and such with chalk, particularly red chalk, and will occassionally lick the walls that she's colored. She also loves dragons.
Powers/Abilities: While being blind, she can smell and taste colors. She is also pretty agile, and can do flips in the air to land on platforms up to ten feet above her. She is also in-tune with the minds of others, and in some cases is able to see mind-fragments or imaginary friends if the other person truly believes that they are there.
History: Terezi was born to an upper-middle class family, the Pyropes, in the Outer City of Acquariet. From a young age she showed an interest in law, a logical path when her ancestors were known for superior skills in court. Throughout elementary school, she would often band together with Vriska Serket and give the other kids a run for their money if they broke any minor rule. She became the teacher's pet from hell, and was even offered a chance to go into middle school early that she refused in other to stay by Vriska's side and keep her in order. The two of them were inseperable, and would often play live-action roleplays with other students, particularly Aradia Megido and Tavros Nitram.
One day during a LARPing session in middle school, Vriska's cruel streak showed through completely, and she managed to kick Tavros off of the walkways above the city while Terezi was busy with Aradia. Tavros lived, but gained a concussion and lost the feeling in his legs. Outraged, Terezi attacked Vriska with her spiked-knuckle gloves on. The spikes broke through Vriska's glasses, and the shards ripped her left eye to shreds. That night Terezi went to apologize to her friend, but was scared away by screams coming from Vriska's house. Vriska was gone for weeks, while Terezi fretted endlessly over what happened. When Vriska finally came back, her eye was covered with her hair and a new pair of glasses with the left side blacked out, and her left arm was now robotic.
Vriska promptly attacked Terezi as revenge, and scratched out her eyes. Terezi was sent to the hospital's emergency room, screaming, and blacked out for a whole day. When she awoke she was blind, and her eyes had been replaced with bright red glass orbs. Without any particular guild, she wandered into the Inner City, and fell asleep next to the great tree. In her dreams, a small dragon appeared and taught her how to smell and taste her surroundings in order to get around. Upon awakening, she was helped up by a boy named Dave Strider, who helped her get back to the Outer City without alerting the police. Though a little punch-drunk, she was happy to recieve his help and never truly forgot about him.
Despite their actions toward each other, Terezi never truly blamed Vriska for anything. She did, however, become afraid of Vriska's flirting with the law, and the possibility that she might have to choose one day between their friendship and her job. Because of this she began to talk to Vriska less and less, and concentrate on her friendships with Nepeta Leijon, Karkat Vantas, Tavros and everyone else. She was appointed the secretary of the courthouse, and she had led a mostly-normal life since the incidents. The end.

Prose sample: As Vriska left her on the ground, Terezi felt no pain. Not the literal kind. She felt betrayed, but she knew she deserved it for Vriska's losses. Knowing that didn't help, though, it made it hurt more. She had committed an unforgivable crime, and this was her punishment. The cycle of revenge had ended, she would never touch her friend again.
Vaguely, she heard her mother calling of her. Blindly, she clawed at the ground and whimpered, unable to work up a scream. She didn't deserve to scream, but she heard her mother's when the great attorney found her child half-dead on the footpath near their home, drenched in the teal blood gushing from her eye-sockets.
It was vaguely, as well, that she noticed ambulences, people rushing around her, her body being hoisted onto a stretcher. Before she could truly peace together what was happening beyond the thick shade of black covering her vision, her mind melted and she fell into a deep sleep.
When she woke up, she found that she still couldn't see a thing. But in the back of her mind, she saw something. Like the end of a string, a string made of teal light. Slowly she rose from her bed, delayed slightly by the bruises still left of her from Vriska's attack. There were people around her, she brushed past them and heard them protest her moving around, but her concentration was on following that string. It led her around corners, under ledges, over walkways and finally through a small gate. At the edge of the string, she found... nothing. She could not see anything, not even in her mind's eye. That was it. Gone. Done. She fell to her knees with a whimper, and found grass. Grass. Something safe, something she could rely on. With a soft sigh, she curled up on the ground and closed her sightless eyes, searching her mind for the string. And in her mind she found a small dragon.
"Would you like to see again?" the dragon offered.
"I don't think that's what I want..." she ventured hesitantly, "But I won't survive if I don't..."
"I can teach you something else, then."
"Please..."
